Realme Narzo N55: A Detailed Review

Realme has launched its latest budget smartphone, the Realme Narzo N55, in India on April 18, 2023. The phone is available on Amazon and the official Realme site with an introductory offer between April 18 to April 21. The Realme Narzo N55 price in India starts from Rs 10,999 for the base 4GB/64GB model and goes up to Rs 12,999 for the 6GB/128GB variant. The phone comes in two colour options: Prime Black and Prime Blue.

The Realme Narzo N55 is a successor to the Realme Narzo N50, which was launched in September 2022. The new phone boasts some upgrades over its predecessor, such as a bigger display, a better processor, a higher refresh rate, and a faster charging technology. In this article, we will review the Realme Narzo N55 in detail and see how it fares against its competitors in the budget segment.

Design and Display

The Realme Narzo N55 has a sleek and stylish design that is eye-catching and comfortable to hold. The phone has a glass front, a plastic frame, and a plastic back with a glossy finish that reflects light in different patterns. The back panel also houses two huge camera bumps that give the phone a distinctive look. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor that is fast and reliable. The phone also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, and a single speaker at the bottom.

The display of the Realme Narzo N55 is one of its highlights. The phone sports a 6.72-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a pixel density of 392 ppi. The screen has a punch-hole cutout at the top-left corner for the selfie camera and minimal bezels on all sides. The screen also supports a 90Hz refresh rate that makes the animations and scrolling smoother and more responsive. The screen has a peak brightness of 680 nits and offers good colours, contrast, and viewing angles.

Performance and Battery

The Realme Narzo N55 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G88 chipset, which is an octa-core processor with two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The chipset also has a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU for graphics performance. The phone comes with either 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 1TB via a dedicated microSD card slot.

The Realme Narzo N55 runs on Android 13 with Realme UI 4.0 on top. The software offers a clean and smooth user interface with some customisation options and features such as dark mode, game space, smart sidebar, digital wellbeing, etc. The phone also supports dual SIM cards with VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS, etc.

The battery of the Realme Narzo N55 is another strong point of the phone. The phone packs a 5000mAh Li-Po battery that can easily last for more than a day on moderate usage. The phone also supports Super VOOC charging technology that can charge the battery from zero to 50% in just 29 minutes using the included 33W charger.


The Realme Narzo N55 has a dual-camera setup at the back that consists of a 64MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture and phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture for portrait shots. The rear cameras can record videos at up to 1080p resolution at 30fps or 60fps with electronic image stabilisation (EIS). The rear cameras also have features such as LED flash, HDR, panorama, digital zoom, auto flash, face detection, etc.

The selfie camera of the Realme Narzo N55 is an 8MP shooter with an f/2.0 aperture that is housed in the punch-hole cutout on the screen. The selfie camera can also record videos at up to 1080p resolution at 30fps with EIS. The selfie camera also has features such as HDR, panorama, etc.
